Pasta Database is a reference site. There is no account, no login, and no newsletter. We do not want your personal data, and we ask for it in one place only: the feedback form, where the email field is optional.
What we collect
Analytics. We use two tools to count visits. Fathom Analytics is cookieless and does not build a profile of you. Google Analytics uses cookies and does collect a device identifier. Both tell us which pages people read. Neither tells us who you are.
Server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, records the normal technical facts of a web request: the IP address, the page, the browser, and the time. We use them to keep the site up and to stop abuse.
Feedback. If you send feedback we receive your message and, if you typed one, your email address. The form also sends the page you were on, your browser, your screen size, your language, and your time zone, because a bug report without them is hard to fix. We use the email address to answer you. We do not add it to any list.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with data brokers. We run no advertising network on this site, so no advertiser tracks you here. We set no cookie of our own. Links to Amazon carry our affiliate id; Amazon sets its own cookies once you are on its site, under its own policy.
Your choices
A browser that blocks trackers, or an ad blocker, stops the analytics scripts. The site works the same way without them. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the official browser add-on.
Children
The site is for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect data from a child under 13.
Changes
If this text changes we change the date at the top. There is no mailing list, so that date is the notice.
